TEMPERED GLASS

Tempered or toughened glass is often used for safety reasons: if this glass breaks, it will shatter into a large quantity of small granular pieces, instead of large sharp pieces. This is the result of the tempering process, which puts the outer surface of the glass into compression and the inner surface into tension. Haerens offers a wide variety of tempered glass, ranging from Ultra-Clear transparent to our grey Ultra-Gri or our modern, brown-bronze Ultra-Bronze glass. Tempered glass can be used in a very wide range of applications such as:
