A history in glass since 1826
The history of Haerens, formerly known as Meyvaert Glas and later GMC Meyvaert, dates back to 1826, when the first industrial mirror factory was established in Ghent, Belgium. What began as a craft-based activity focused on glass and mirrors has, over the past two centuries, evolved into a leading player in the processing of a wide range of glass types.
An expanding product portfolio
Over the past decades, the company has grown into a global player in the processing of laminated glass, offering a broad range of applications, as well as highly technical, high-value-added glass products such as heat-resistant ceramic glass, radiation-shielding lead glass and dielectric mirror glass.
Today, Haerens supplies glass to a wide range of industries: stove and fireplace manufacturers, medical radiation protection, high-end museum display cases, balustrades, architecture, interior design and other manufacturing sectors.
Ready for the future
From our two European locations, we combine decades of experience with a high level of technical expertise. Our recent relocation therefore meant more than simply moving to a new site: we invested in a completely new production hall and a state-of-the-art machinery park, enabling us to serve our customers with greater speed, precision and flexibility.
